These two wilderness areas of the Cleveland National Forest consist of over 21,000 acres. The two vary in topography and vegetation. The mountainous terrain, steep slopes, and rock outcrops of the Hauser are quite different from the gently sloping area of Pine Creek. Elevations range from 1,600 feet to 4,000 feet. The Pacific Crest Trail passes just east of this area.
