The Little Belt and Castle Mountains have many opportunities for use and enjoyment in the winter months.
Snowmobilers of all skill levels will find thousands of acres of terrain, as well as 260 miles of groomed snowmobile trails and many miles of ungroomed trail open from December 1 – May 15. Cross-country skiers can access hundreds of miles of trails and roads closed to all motorized use during this time, and find ample opportunities for back-country travel in terrain of varying difficulty, or can take advantage of the groomed routes at the Silvercrest Cross-Country Ski Area. Snowshoers, mushers, and other non-motorized uses will likewise find many areas of appropriate for their uses.
