The Conecuh Trail, winding for 20 miles through Alabama's
coastal plain, was built by the Youth Conservation Corps. It
began in 1976. The young people of the Corps constructed
the trail through parklike longleaf pine stands, hardwood
bottomlands, and other plant communities of the 84,000-acre
Conecuh National Forest.
