The Pinhoti Trail in the Talladega National Forest in east
Alabama includes more than 100 miles of hiking trails. It
runs from Piedmont, its northern Terminus, to a point south
of Talladega. Side trails in the Cheaha Wilderness and
Cheaha State Park are a part of the Pinhoti Trail System. They
include the Nubbin Creek, Odum Scout, Cave Creek, Skyway Loop,
and Chinnabee Silent Trails.
Map 1 (Sections 1 and 2). This map begins at the northern terminus
of the trail on H.S. Highway 278 east of Piedomont and
crosses Augusta Mine Ridge, Oakey Mountain, and Dugger
Mountain, to Cleburne County Road 55. This section
includes some of the trail constructed in 1994 and offers
beautiful views from some of Alabama's tallest Mountains.
