Located in northwest Alabama, the Bankhead National Forest
is managed by the USDA Forest Service. The Bankhead National
Forest is comprised of approximately 181,000 acres of the
southern cumberland plateau. Highly diverse terrestrial and
aquatic ecosystems, including globally important bird habitats,
are found in this area.
